Chapter 3 of an ongoing adventure.
 
THE FALLS: With thunderous cacophony, KRUMM and NOX make a meteoric return to their homeworld of Somar. Having been shot down, they set out on foot, only to discover that the cities and towns of their youth are crushed beneath alien structures. Soon, the pair are on the run from carnivorous plants and spiny, hunchbacked, dog-like creatures. With dripping fangs, the end is near, when a group of soldiers comes blasting to their rescue. Against a rising tide of monsters, KRUMM uses his natural skills as a mechanic to launch a nearby vehicle into the crowd of snarling creatures, and a well-placed shot from the group leader sends them scattering back into the forest. The soldier’s wizened eyes rest on him, doing nothing to betray the fact that there is more behind the look than KRUMM realizes.
